Title Film Genres 
Description (Formerly 152.246) An examination of a major cinematic genre (e.g, the gangster film, the western, the musical) with emphasis upon the permanence and evolution of generic conventions and the ability of filmmakers to register personal visions within these conventions. Prerequisite: [a grade of "C" or better in each of FILM 1290 (152.129) and FILM 1310 (or the former FILM 1300 (152.130))] or written consent of instructor. As the course content will vary from year to year, students may take this course more than once for credit.
